The Evolution

When we started thinking about how much time is spent in bed, it came to be A LOT! Did you know you spent approximately 33% of your life sleeping? Seriously. We realized that the bedding we produce needed to make each night’s sleep count, so you can crush the other 66%!

Our starting collection is certified organic and chemical-free. We get cotton fresh from the fields. Once we have the cotton we clean it up real nice and prep it for spinning, weaving, and finishing. For the finishing, we give the fabric one last wash using earth-friendly soaps. AKA it helps clean and protect the fabric, with no harmal effects for the planet. Win!

The organic collection follows guidelines set by the Textile Exchange for Organic Blended Content Standard 100. This basically says a third party has verified that when we say it’s organic cotton, it actually is.

We take our down and feather seriously. That’s why we double and triple check to make sure our sources are ethical in the treatment of the waterfowl from which we receive down. This has earned us a Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certification.

RDS ensures traceability to the source to make sure down comes from waterfowl whose welfare are respected through their life. This means no force-feeding and absolutely no live-plucking.

Even though we know where all the components come from, we always make sure we give everything a good wash before it goes through production. That means using harmful detergents right? Nope! All the soaps and cleaning agents we use are earth-friendly and bluesign® approved.

bluesign® is a solution for sustainable textile production. It eliminates harmful substances right from the beginning of the manufacturing process and controls standards for an environmentally friendly and safe production. This ensures that the final product meets very strick consumer safety requirements worldwide.

We want to keep our footprint to a minimum, that’s why we’ve made sure all our products can be recycled. We also wanted to be able to give back to this great, awesome world that make what we do possible. That’s why we are part of 1% for the Planet. For every item sold, we give 1%, it may not seem like a lot, but those numbers add up quick when we work together!

1% for the Planet is a nonprofit organization that links businesses contributing at least one percent of sales with high-impact environmental nonprofits. They help create partnerships that protect the planet.
